In 2019, LMC Healthcare with funding by the Public Health Agency of Canada, began enrolling Canadian’s in a first in Canada research study. Named the Canadian Diabetes Prevention Program (CDPP), the study is supported by multiple partner organization including Diabetes Canada and INTERVENT International. The study offers a lifestyle change program, delivered online and over the phone, to help Canadians reduce their risk of developing type 2 diabetes. The CDPP is based on a similar study developed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in the United States that demonstrated success in reducing future risk of type 2 diabetes.
After enrolling participants for 2 years, we are preparing to enrol our final participants before this spring. Our final participants will continue to participate for 12 months, after which we will be preparing a research paper and publishing our findings. The program is continuing to enrol 200 more participants before spring 2022. Click the button for more information CDPP Info
