Closing our practice down on March 18th was the hardest decision we’ve had to make, but it was the right decision to try and reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.  Now as we open our practice gradually, our priority is the health and safety of our patients, staff, and community.

We were happy to offer emergency care at our Thornhill clinic during the shut-down period but as of May 27th and the Ontario College of Optometrists announcement; all of our clinics are now able to reopen and return to  full practice in order to serve all of our patient’s needs.  We are thrilled to once again be able to do what we love best, taking care of your eyes and optimizing your vision.  We are implementing all College and Public Health protocols and guidelines for cleaning and disinfection.  Rest assured that our commitment is to the safest environment when attending your eye exam and purchasing your new eyewear.

APPOINTMENTS

COVID-19 has significantly disrupted our appointment schedule; however, we believe it is in your best interest to minimize the number of people in our office in order to respect social distancing.  If your appointment was cancelled during our closure or you have an upcoming appointment, you will receive an email or a call from our staff to reschedule to a new time and date.  We thank you for your understanding, patience, and support.

EYE EXAMS WITH ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

LMC Optometry has invested in advanced diagnostic tools to help us better serve you. We have consulted with industry leaders in order to develop the next generation of comprehensive eye care while prioritizing your safety and health.

We believe that all patients should have access to this level of care regardless of OHIP coverage and third-party insurance plans. Going forward, we are implementing the following out-of-pocket tests to ensure early disease detection and the most beneficial treatment options for you.

  • Patients ages of 6 -19 years old will have a digital retina scan for enhanced visualization of the back of the eye and to reduce the close doctor-patient working distance of traditional exams.

  • Patients ages 20-64 years old will have a wide-field digital retina scan and a cross-sectional retina scan and depending on overall findings, may have additional diagnostic tests to reveal greater details of your eye health.

  • Seniors 65 years old and those patients with certain medical and eye conditions will have both a wide-field digital retina scan and a cross-sectional retina scan.  These advanced tests will screen and track for diseases like diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, hypertension, and retinal tears.  These tests not only allow for safer working distances but are essential to determine details of your health.

You will be advised of the fees for additional testing and virtual consultation by our staff when booking your appointment.

We are looking forward to having you back in our new environment to provide you with a high level of care and attention you’ve become accustomed to.

While things are different, what hasn’t changed is our dedication to providing you with the highest quality eye care, state of the art diagnostic testing and products to suit any budget.

Thank you so much for your support – we are very excited to see you!!

Wishing you the very best,

Your team of professionals @LMC Optometry & Eye Care
