Dr. David Y. Twum-Barima has been a valuable member of the LMC Diabetes & Endocrinology Investigator team since January 2002. Dr. Twum-Barima completed his training in Internal Medicine in London, Ontario and Ottawa. He went on to sub-specialty training in Endocrinology and Metabolism at the Ottawa Civic Hospital and has since attained Fellowship in Internal Medicine by the 加拿大皇家内外科医学院.

Dr. Twum-Barima has spent most of the past decade providing consultant care in the Belleville/Trenton area, serving as Chief of Medicine at Trenton Memorial and Medical Director of the Diabetes Education Clinics at both Belleville and Trenton Hospitals. Since moving to the Oakville area, he has immersed himself in clinical and research work at LMC Oakville. With a keen interest in research and diabetes, he has been an asset as a teaching clinician and as an Investigator.
