Dr. Andrew Boright

 

Dr Andrew Boright received his PhD in Human Genetics from 麦吉尔大学 in 1989 and completed his medical training at Memorial University of Newfoundland in 1992. He became a fellow of the 加拿大皇家内外科医学院 in 1997 when he finished his sub-specialty training in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology and Metabolism from the University of Toronto. He further augmented his career with several years of post-doctoral training at the Hospital for Sick Children in the Department of Genetics and Genomic Biology.
Dr Boright joined the University Health Network and Department of Medicine at the University of Toronto as an Assistant Professor in 2000 where he worked for over 10 years as a Staff Endocrinologist, Teacher and Clinician Investigator.
His research has centered on understanding the genetic determinants of diabetic complications that occur in patients with type 1 diabetes. He continues to be an active investigator with the genetics team from the Diabetes Control and Complications Trial (DCCT) and his work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) and the Canadian Diabetes Association (CDA). He has published in a variety of peer reviewed journals of diabetes research.
