LMC&#8217;s management team is continuously monitoring and responding to Public Health directions related to COVID-19.<\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Health and Safety<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3>As part of our COVID-19 response plan, we are implementing the following measures at our clinics:<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Screening<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0all patients and guests will be screened before entering the clinic. You won&#8217;t be able to enter our offices if you&#8217;re having any type of cough or fever. You won&#8217;t be able to enter if you&#8217;ve travelled outside Canada in the past 14 days or had exposure to anyone positive for COVID-19.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Reminders<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0each patient will receive phone or email reminders of our screening measures, before their appointment.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Cleaning<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0we have implemented more frequent and enhanced disinfectant cleaning. Everyone entering the clinic will be asked to use the hand sanitizers provided.\u00a0<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Social distancing<\/strong>\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0we won&#8217;t be shaking hands and we&#8217;ll be keeping 1 metre of distance, other than necessary physical exams. We&#8217;ll be spacing out our waiting room chairs and reducing the number of people in each office, each day.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><strong>Patient Care<\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3>Our offices remain open and we&#8217;ll continue seeing patients each day. However,<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>If you&#8217;re in a higher risk group (see below) for COVID-related illness and would prefer your visit conducted by phone, we&#8217;ll contact you directly by phone at your scheduled visit time.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>In general, if you prefer to avoid coming in to the office, don&#8217;t cancel your appointment. Instead, please let us know and we will conduct your visit remotely &#8211; by phone or by videoconference, for Endocrinologist or Diabetes Educator visits. Most appointments with Pharmacy, Optometry, or Research will still need to be in the office if you&#8217;re not in a higher risk group. Cancellation fees will be waived during this period.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>In cases where we prefer to conduct your visit remotely, we&#8217;ll contact you in advance and make arrangements with you.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>Chiropodists in Ontario will only be providing emergency care for the next 2 weeks so your booked appointments at our offices will be rescheduled.<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Higher risk individuals include:\u00a0<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3>People &gt; 80 years of age<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3>People with heart disease and\/or lung disease<\/h3>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>\u00a0<\/h3>\n<h3>Diabetes itself is a higher risk condition for COVID-related illness. We urge you to minimize your risk by being proactive with your prevention strategies.
