Many people will be setting new years\u2019 resolutions this month and we want to make sure you succeed!<\/h3>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>A helpful way of setting goals is using the SMART framework. SMART stands for:<\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Specific \u2013 <\/strong>sometimes goals start out as a broad concept like \u201cI want to eat healthier\u201d but it\u2019s helpful to make this more concrete so you have a clear direction to work towards.<\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Measureable<\/strong> \u2013 it\u2019s helpful to associate a number with your goal so you\u2019re able to tell when you\u2019ve actually achieved the goal.<\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Actionable<\/strong> \u2013 instead of saying \u201cI want to lose weight\u201d we want to focus on an actionable item such as increasing your physical activity.<\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Realistic<\/strong> \u2013 if you are not currently exercising, you may not want to set a goal to exercise every day. Instead aim to make small gradual changes and perhaps aiming for 1-3 times per week instead of every day will set you up better for success.<\/h3>\n<h3><strong>Timely<\/strong> \u2013 it\u2019s easy to procrastinate on a goal if there is no timeline.
