With May being foot health month, I usually use this time of year to emphasize the importance of foot care, provide education on the roles of Chiropodists and Podiatrists, and stress the importance of having a foot specialist as part of your health care team to maintain optimal foot health. I remind and advise you to see your foot specialist for annual and routine assessments to reduce your risk of foot complications as continuous podiatric assessments and treatments will help keep your feet safe and healthy \u2013 and every year more people agree. Ultimately, the steps you take now can assist with your overall wellbeing, and I am here to empower you to take those steps.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/h3>\n

However, this year has been different. This year, I had to make the difficult decision to close our doors in order to follow guidelines put in place by the College of Chiropodists of Ontario – as our services were deemed non-essential. The truth is, I have spent these past few months looking at the most beautiful little feet I have ever seen. While I am grateful to have fond memories with my three children, my heart is broken for the feet I cannot see, the feet that need care the most, the feet of our patients.<\/h3>\n

\u00a0<\/h3>\n

Thank you for your patience and understanding through this difficult time, and for responding to the government policies to collaborate in preventing the spread of COVID-19 in our country. This has not been easy for anyone, but avoiding exposure for those who are most vulnerable is especially important as we all have a role towards planking the curve. Thank you for your cooperation while we navigate daily changes mandated by the Ministry of Health and our regulating College.<\/h3>\n

May is foot health month. At this time every year I reach out to promote the importance of foot care, and having a foot specialist as part of your health care team. I educate people on who Chiropodists and Podiatrists are, and how we can help you maintain your optimal foot health.<\/h3>\r\n

I remind and advise you to see your foot specialist for annual and routine assessments to reduce your risk of foot complications. The reason I do this is podiatric assessments and treatments will help you keep your feet safe and healthy.<\/h3>\r\n
