LMC COVID-19 Resources for Primary Care Physicians & Patients with Diabetes

COVID-19 poses a dangerous health risk to those living with diabetes, especially to those not effectively managing their condition.  Early reports from the Wuhan experience identified diabetes as one of the three risk subgroups for mortality (22%) and for more severe disease (16%).  In the United States, the CDC has reported that 32% of ICU-admitted patients had diabetes.

Primary Care Physicians and their patients with diabetes are facing a number of challenges during these uncertain times. LMC can help. Our multidisciplinary team of Endocrinologists, Certified Diabetes Educator Nurses, Dietitians and Pharmacists are now offering a wide range of virtual care & support options to ensure your patients have continued access to the specialist care, education & support they need during COVID-19.

We are accepting new and existing patients for virtual care as well as urgent in-person care. We will keep you up-to-date with real-time consult notes (within 24 hours) and can transfer patients back to your clinic once the COVID-19 crisis is concluded.
