Dr. Harpreet Singh Bajaj is a leading endocrinologist and the medical director of Endocrine and metabolic research at LMC Healthcare\/Centricity in Canada. He is the Principal Investigator of the Canadian Diabetes Prevention Program, a nationwide initiative between LMC and Diabetes Canada, funded by the Public Health Agency of Canada. Having completed his tenure as the Chairperson of the Clinical Practice Guidelines Steering Committee at Diabetes Canada, Dr. Bajaj now serves as the Past Chair in this committee.<\/h5>\n
Dr. Bajaj completed his endocrinology fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic<\/a> in Ohio, USA. After pursuing his medical education at the University of Delhi<\/a> in India, Dr. Bajaj attained a Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology at the University at Albany,<\/a> New York, USA.<\/h5>\n
Some of his career highlights have included a research associate position at Leadership Sinai Centre for Diabetes, Mount Sinai Hospital (University of Toronto)<\/a> and his Medscape<\/a> column titled \u201cThe Sugar Beat\u201d<\/em>.<\/h5>\n
His clinical research focuses on T2D prevention, remission and management, as well as obesity and cardiorenal risk reduction, publishing extensively in leading medical journals on these topics. In addition to his clinical research, Dr. Bajaj is committed to community health, founding the STOP Diabetes Foundation in 2013 and hosting a health show on the South-Asian Channel Y. Passionate about both clinical care and public health, Dr. Bajaj continues to be a leading figure in diabetes and metabolic disease research and advocacy.<\/h5>\n

For over two decades Dr. Adam Telner<\/b> has been an integral staff member at Queensway Carleton<\/a> and Ottawa hospitals, where he was chief of Medicine (Queensway Carleton\u00a0Hospital<\/a>) and had a busy hospital and outpatient endocrinology practice. He is especially well known for his work with metabolic syndrome. In 2004 Dr. Telner established the Carling Metabolic Syndrome Clinic with a vision to reduce risk factors in people with metabolic syndrome in order to prevent diabetes and coronary disease.<\/p>

Similar to our LMC multidisciplinary approach to patient care, Dr. Telner\u2019s clinic provided lifestyle counseling, diet advice and medication to patients by a dedicated team including nurse, dietician and pharmacist. His multidisciplinary team has seen encouraging results, which were successfully reported at Endocrinology meetings and national and international conferences. The impact of his clinic on patient care has been highly recognized.<\/p>

Dr. Telner joined LMC Endocrinology Centres in 2010 when he relocated to Toronto.<\/p>
