Endocrinology\u00a0<\/strong><\/span>published a paper in the journal of <strong><em>Health and Quality of Life Outcomes<\/em><\/strong> about our novel tool &#8211; <strong><span style=\"color: #a0af28;\">LMC Skills, Confidence &amp; Preparedness Index (SCPI).<\/span> <\/strong>SCPI is a new tool that can be used to assess self-management behaviours in patients living with diabetes\u2014it measures three key aspects including knowledge of a skill, confidence in being able to perform the skill and preparedness to implement the skill.<\/p>\n<p>The overall results of this initiative has showed the following:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;<span class=\"ff3\"><span class=\"current-selection\">\u0926<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">Skills,<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">Confidence<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">&amp;<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">Preparedness<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">Index<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">is<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">a<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">brief<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">\u0914\u0930<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">easy<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">to<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">administer<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">new<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">scale<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">that<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">is<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">more <\/span><\/span><span class=\"current-selection\">comprehensive<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">than<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">existing<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">tools.<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">It<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">should<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">be<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">used<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">to<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">assess<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">self-management<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">in<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">patients<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">with<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">diabetes,<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">optimize <\/span><span class=\"current-selection\">the<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">resources<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">applied<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">to<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">each<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">patient,<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">\u0914\u0930<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">determine<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">educational<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">needs<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">\u0914\u0930<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">direct<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">clinical<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">manageme<\/span><span class=\"current-selection\">nt.<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">\u0926<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">scale <\/span><span class=\"current-selection\">should<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">be<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">further<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">evaluated<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">in<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">a<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">broader<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">population<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">of<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">patients<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">with<\/span> <span class=\"current-selection\">diabetes.&#8221;<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>To learn more about SCPI and this LMC initiative, click <span style=\"color: #a0af28;\"><a style=\"color: #a0af28;\" href=\"http:\/\/rdcu.be\/oVdY\"><strong>\u092f\u0939\u093e\u0902<\/strong><\/a><\/span> to view the article.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At the beginning of 2017, LMC Diabetes &amp;
